THE JOYS HOSTEL is a homestay in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City, with dormitories, one double room, a sun terrace and a shared kitchen, a short walk from Ben Thanh Market. It suits solo travellers who are happy to share a room, and couples or friends who want a double room in the centre of the city.

The rooms range from the double room, with an extra-large double bed, to dormitories with bunk beds or single beds for four or ten guests. Two of the ten-bed dormitories have a balcony and a terrace with a view, and every room has air conditioning and a coffee machine. The bathrooms are shared, with showers, bidets and free toiletries, and free WiFi runs at 45 Mbps, enough for HD streaming and video calls.

Common areas include a sun terrace with outdoor furniture, a tour desk, luggage storage, lockers and laundry, with dry cleaning available and a 24-hour front desk. Daily housekeeping and a wake-up service are also offered. There is no parking on site, so arrivals by car or motorbike need to leave their vehicle elsewhere nearby.

THE JOYS HOSTEL offers four kinds of room, from a double room with an extra-large double bed to dormitories for four and ten guests. The double room is 30 m² and sleeps two, while the dormitories range from 15 m² for the four-bed female room to 30 m² for the two ten-bed rooms. Every room has air conditioning and a coffee machine, and every bathroom is shared, with a shower, a bidet and free toiletries.

The two ten-bed dormitories are the ones with outdoor space: each has a balcony and a terrace with a view. They differ mainly in the beds, with bunk beds in one and single beds in the other. The four-bed female dormitory is the smallest room, with a seating area and a dining area, and towels and sheets are available for an extra fee in all rooms.

The hostel's facilities are practical and cover the basics of a stay in the city. The 24-hour front desk, daily housekeeping, a wake-up service and a tour desk take care of most needs, while luggage storage, lockers, laundry and dry cleaning help on longer trips. Free WiFi runs at 45 Mbps, enough for HD streaming and video calls, and internet services are available. There is no parking on site.

The hostel is set back from the main street in a side alley, yet the Bui Vien Walking Street is 50 m away, with its bars and cafés, and the restaurants Quán Ngon - Bún Chả Hà Nội, Món Huế and Đại Việt are all within 50 m. Ben Thanh Market, 700 m away, is one of the city's best-known markets for souvenirs and street food.

Public transport is close by. Ben Thanh Station is 600 m away, the Bến xe buýt Sài Gòn bus station is 400 m, and Saigon Railway Station is 2.3 km. Tan Son Nhat International Airport is 5.5 km away by road, a short taxi ride for most arrivals, and the rest of the city is easy to reach by ride-hailing car. Most sights are within walking distance, while the airport and the railway station are better reached by taxi.

The Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum is 650 m away and Tao Dan Park 700 m, with Independence Palace 1 km away and the War Remnants Museum 1.3 km. The Chùa An Lạc pagoda and the Saigon Evangelical Church are a few minutes' walk from the hostel, so a temple visit fits easily into a morning. Early risers can walk to Tao Dan Park, and the Chợ Dân Sinh market is nearby for a look at daily life in District 1.
